Hey guys, today, we will be making a simple snack known as “Puff-Puff”.
Puff-puff is simple to mix and make snack that is mostly prepared for home or commercial purpose. Which is made using fried dough.
The dough consist of flour, yeast, sugar and baking powder .
It does not use too many ingredients during mixing but the outcome is great. You can serve or take it with Tea, Fruit juice or Zobo drink.
It needs deep frying so that it doesn’t get flat. This means the size of frying pan or pot, matters.
You will be needing a sieve and the measuring instruments to get the right quantity of the ingredients.
The yeast has to be active, if not the dough will not rise. To know that your yeast is active, put a little in a cup and add a little water. If it gets foamy then you are good to go else you have to buy another.
Alright let’s begin cooking.
- 2 cups of flour
- 83ml of sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoon of yeast
- 0.6ml or 1/3tsp of baking powder
- Vegetable Oil

Sieve the 2 cups of flour into a bowl.
Add the sugar, yeast and the baking powder. Mix very well.
Get water in a cup and a bit by bit as you mix to for a dough. Note: the dough shouldn’t be too watery or too thick. Its texture should be sticky.
Cover the bowl and set under the sun to rise an 1 hour.
Set an empty pot on heat, add vegetable oil, it should be enough to deep fry and allow to heat up. Note: You can add a little batter in the oil to be sure of the heat level.
Using your hand, fetch the dough, forming a ball with it and gently drop it in the oil on heat.

Flip over with time when the other side is all fried up.
Pack out of the oil when all fried up and allow to cool down before serving.
You can serve with a drink of your choice.
