I am back with another recipe. Today I will be telling you how to make Nigerian Local Lettuce Salad.
Lettuce Salad is really tasty, a source of fiber and cellulose which aids in digestion. A combination of the ingredients provides vitamins to the body.
I love the way it looks when it’s all mixed. The color combination is so beautiful and natural.
Let’s start Mixing.
- 2 stalks of Lettuce
- 6 pieces of Fresh Tomatoes
- 1 medium size Onion
- 2 tins of Kuli Kuli Powder (German Stone)
- 3 pieces of Pepper
- 2 Seasoning Cubes
Pick the Lettuce leaves from its stalk and put in a bowl.
Add some salt and water and leave it for 2 minutes (this is a natural way to kill germs without needing to cook). Wash it twice without salt after the 2 minutes is up. This is to get rid of the salty taste.
Chop your Lettuce and put in a bowl, add water to it. wash and put in a basket to drain.
Wash your Tomatoes, Onion and slice into circles and set aside.
Wash and grate your Pepper and set aside.
Add Salt to the powdered Kuli kuli (if there isn’t already).
Pound the 2 cubes and add to the powdered Kuli Kuli and mix.
Turn the chopped lettuce into a bowl (large enough for mixing).
Add the sliced Tomatoes, Onion and grated Pepper.
Add in the powdered Kuli Kuli.
Start mixing (you can use a spoon or your hand to mix. But it will mix better with the hand).
You can taste it as you mix to ensure the Seasoning is enough. If it isn’t, you should add.
Mix well till the Powdered Kuli Kuli is all melted.
When this happens, it is ready to be eaten.
I will love to get your comments on how it tasted.
Enjoy, and have a great day.
