How To Make Nigerian Chicken Pepper Soup

Okay… Welcome back to Dee’s Mealz. Today, we will be making a special Appetizer recipe.

You all know it, you all love it (unless you are a vegetarian) I’m talking about “Chicken Pepper Soup. It is hot and spicy, Sometime it is used for “curing a cold” if you know what I mean.

Funny story, my Dad is a fan of meat and we all know the saying “blood is thicker than water”, so in other words, I am also a fan (please don’t tempt me) and so are my siblings.

A lot of people love eating Chicken either Fried, Pepper Soup or just cooked. And as we all know, chicken is more acceptable than Beef in the health aspect.

I can tell you so many stories regarding eating chicken in my family but that’s not why you are here.

Let’s begin

Ingredients

  • 1 full chicken.
  • 5 pieces of pepper
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 2 seasoning cubes
  • Salt
  • Scent leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of each Spice ( mixed spices, Chicken seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon of Thyme

Method

Wash the pieces of chicken, set in a pot add water to the chicken’s level and set the pot on heat. Allow to boil for 7 minutes.

Wash and grate the pepper, onion and set aside

Pick and chop the scent leaves into a bowl.

Add the pepper, onion to the chicken also add one teaspoon of each spice, salt and seasoning cubes to the chicken.

Allow to boil for 10 more minutes and add the chopped scent leaves.

Turn with a spoon and allow to cook for 10 more minutes.

Set down from heat and allow to cool down before serving.
