Hey guys welcome back to Dee’s Mealz. I’m here today to teach you how to prepare vegetable sauce using Moringa Leaves, which is locally known as “Zogale” in Hausa.
Moringa leaves are known to be to nutritious and medicinal to the body.
Today we will be making the sauce using Moringa Leaves, Pepper, Onion and Roasted Fish. Doesn’t need a lot right?
You can eat the sauce as it is or you can eat it with white rice.
So, let’s begin cooking…
- 3 bunches of Moringa Leaves
- 2 roasted fish
- 6 chili pepper
- 11 habanero pepper
- 1 medium size Onion bulb
- 4 seasoning cubes
- Vegetable Oil

The first thing to do is to pick the leaves from the stalk and put in a bowl.
Wash the picked leaves with water twice, drain and turn in a pot. Add water to the leaves, cover the pot and set on heat. Allow to boil for 6-7 minutes.
When the time is up, strain using a basket. Pour some cold water over it then squeeze till its rid of all the water. Then put in a plate.
Wash and grate the pepper, onion and set aside.
Debone the fish and set aside.
Now set an empty pot on heat, add vegetable oil, grated pepper, onion and the deboned fish. Mix well and allow to fry for a minute.
Add a little salt and the seasoning cubes, mix well and allow to fry for 2-3 more minutes.
When the time is up, add the cooked moringa leaves and mix very well.
Set down from heat and serve as it is or with white rice.
You see that from the beginning f this article to the end, I didn’t add water to it. This is because water is not needed in the preparation of this sauce.
