So, today I decided to write about how to make couscous. Couscous is one of the dishes you can make very quickly. On a day I feel too tired after classes, I end up cooking couscous because it’s quite fast and easy.

Dorcas with you. Welcome to another recipe of Dee’s Mealz. You can make the couscous in jellof form or white and eat with stew or sauce. For me, I prefer the jellof form.

Because I am cooking for two people, I will be using the whole sachet.

Let’s get straight  to cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet of couscous
  • 1 small size Onion
  • 1 sachet tomato paste
  • 9 pieces of Pepper
  • 2 smoked fish
  • Carrot
  • Green Beans
  • 5 Seasoning cubes
  • Salt
  • Vegetable Oil

Method

Scrape, wash and cut the carrots, green beans into small pieces.

Debone the fish and set aside.

Add the Vegetable oil into a pot and set on heat.

Now add the Tomato paste, the grated Pepper, Onion to the pot, stir and allow to fry for 5 minutes.

After the 5 minutes is up, add in 1 ½ cup of water to the pot, the chopped carrot and green beans, the deboned fish, 5 seasoning cubes, salt to taste and allow to boil.

Then add in your CousCous and stir with a spoon till the water is all dried up. Close the pot and reduce the heat.

Allow to cook for 4 minutes and it’s ready to be served.
