Today at Dee’s Mealz, I will be telling you how to prepare another appetizer recipe which is known as “Goat Meat Pepper Soup”.
Goat meat pepper soup is prepared using… obviously, goat meat which is also known as mutton or chevon and also known as “Naman Akuya” in Hausa. Goat meat has a particular smell that differentiate it from other types of meat.
Goat meat pepper soup is a popular type of pepper soup in Nigeria. It is a simple recipe that can be prepared and eaten for the urge of it or prepared for guests, for cold days and also for festive seasons or occasions. From the name pepper soup, we know it is spicy.
Let’s begin cooking.
- ½ kg of goat meat
- 5 pieces of habanero pepper
- 1 medium size onion
- 5 pieces of garlic cloves
- 2 stems of spring onions
- 1 teaspoon of goat meat seasoning
- 2 seasoning cubes
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg powder
Wash the pieces of meat thoroughly with water and put in a pot. Add water to the level of the meat, set on heat and allow to cook for 25 minutes.
Wash and grate or blend the pepper, onion and garlic cloves.
Wash and nicely chop the spring onions.
When the time is up, add the grate pepper, onion and garlic.
Add the nutmeg powder, goat meat seasoning, salt and seasoning cubes.
Then finally, add the chopped spring onion. Mix well and allow to cook till soft.
Taste to ensure the seasoning is okay.
Note: check with time in case you need to add water.
When its cooked, off the heat and serve while hot.
