Egg Sauce (Nigerian Recipe)

Hello guys and welcome back to Dee’s Mealz. Today, I will be telling you how to prepare egg sauce the Nigerian way.

Egg sauce is one among the many egg recipes existing.

The best part of this sauce recipe is that it doesn’t need much ingredients when preparing it.

Egg Sauce as heard from the name is prepared using eggs as the main ingredient, tomatoes, onion etc.

It can also be prepared with blended tomato, tin or sachet tomato paste.

This is a recipe that can be served with white rice, cooked or fried yam, fried irish potatoes etc.

So, let’s begin cooking.


  • 13 pieces of Tomatoes
  • 6 Eggs
  • 8 pieces of Habanero Pepper
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 seasoning cubes
  • Salt
  • 2 cooking spoon of vegetable oil

Egg Sauce Preparation

Wash and nicely slice the tomatoes and onions.

Then wash and pound the pepper.

Set your pot on heat, add the vegetable oil and allow to heat up a bit.

When the oil is a bit hot, add the chopped tomatoes and onion.

Also wash, pound the pepper and add to the pot.

Mix it well and allow to fry till the excess water is completely dry.

While you wait for it to dry, break the eggs into a bowl and whisk well.

When the excess water is dried up in the pot, pour the whisked eggs round in the pot.

Allow for a minute before you mix it a bit.

Allow to cook for another minute before mixing it a bit.

Then allow to cook for 2-3 more minutes before finally mixing it up very well.

And our egg sauce is ready.
